This band is a new promise of the Gothic Rock scene and the Seduced by Suicide's name is already known in dark music's circuits. Reason? because the whole work of this band is the sufficiently captivating thing that it has liked to fans of the gothic, metal and other rock music genres. I contacted with Earth, leader and composer, he tells us what there is behind the concept of the band and about their debut album.
Hello, to begin, present us to your band, which is the history?
Hello!
Seduced by Suicide is a rock band. The music is a mix of 90's gothic-rock and 80's pop and rock. The lyrics are written within an ultra-romantic view of common romantic themes. The idea of creating this band is almost as old as me. I had its sonority in my mind since I was a child, but just in 2004, when I recorded the KISS cover I realized/learned how to make my recordings to sound very close to what was on my mind. So in the end of 2004 the band was established.
Seduced by Suicide is a very suggestive name. Why did you choose it?
Everything in the ultra-romantic view is about to die for someone or something. I have always loved tales about this idea. To die in order to keep something else alive or to follow a beloved person who has died, or even lovers commit suicide to not be torn apart by life itself.
Which is the relation between the suicide and the love? At some time you did want to commiting suicide? Reason?
The relationship between both is pretty evident in my opinion. Nothing lasts forever without degradating, unless if is stopped in the greatest moment. So if you want a perfect love until the end, the end must be near. Earth is a character who thinks about it all the time, but I would say that about Roger Fingle.
"Ultra Romantic Rock" is a very pretentious slogan. Do you think that your music and lyrics are highly romantic?
For sure it is! Just like every single little thing in our existence should be. In the beginning I used to like to call it Goth-Rock. But there are so many Goth-Rock bands around there these days... So far I'm the only Ultra-Romantic Rock band in the world, all the other ones will come after me.
Ultra-Romantic is not something like "romantic a lot" or "very romantic". In fact it is the insane view of the thing. Some may call it foolishness the wish of ending our own life for any reason, but insanity makes all the sense within an insane mind.
 Your "Gothic Dream" CD has been very well received in the gothic rock scene and also in the metal scene, on the other hand the answer of the press means has been quite positive. Did you think that your music would like a lot of people?
I didn't expect it. The original idea wasn't even to put the songs on a cd. I wrote and recorded the songs for myself. This view changed only when I put two songs on MySpace, the KISS cover and a pre mix of My sweetest choice. All those many people from everywhere in the world saying to love the songs, specially the unfinished version of My sweetest choice brought me another idea of what Seduced by Suicide could be if I took it seriously.
Now, you speak us about the new single "My best just for you"...
I wrote this song in 2006, Gothic Dream was just out. I had decided to use this new song to study some technical possibilities. The old songs were recorded using an old sequencer software (from 1999), old plugings and approach. For this reason this new one sounds very different from the others. I liked the result, but my upcoming songs are gonna be a mix of both.
Do you like to work alone? Do you think that it is important the artistic independence? What do you tell us of the new member (Aita)?
Yes, I work alone. Always, even when I try to collaborate with someone else. There is no art without freedom. Aita is a genial musician and a lovely person who I had invited to add some contrast to the sonority of the band. We didn't make anything together yet, but let's see what the future will bring!
The lyrics of the song "My Sweetest Choice" are sad. Does this song represent a gray experience in your life?
To me, it is a very happy song. It attempts to be clear about how things were dark and cool before death. I like to think of this song as a second part of Jail of Solitude's lyrics - "Sweet and enlightened death, end this pain of mine. In the last breath of sanity, you are the one I love".
 Is it certain that soon you will live in Italy? Some special reason?
I don't think it is possible to go any farther staying here. It's a necessity to move. Italy would be easier because of the citizenship issues, but isn't a certainty yet.
You speak us of your participation on " Retratos Subterráneos" CD compilation, I think that the diffusion has been very productive in internet.
In the future this compilation will be mentioned as a historical artefact. Few people would say before its release date that would be so many great dark bands in Brazil. Rodrigo Helfenstein made a really beautiful work in my opinion with it.

Last words and future plans...
My only future plan for now is to finish Seduced's full album and it's already a lot.
