Decadance Records presents us another great release, Nadia Sohaei and her album "Talking to Myself", an exquisite work that appeals to the synth pop to capture us with melancholic and romantic melodies that make flow the deepest emotions...  Here Nadia:

Hello, your first words for our readers in Latin America.
Hello, I'm Nadia Sohaei and I'm with full satisfaction of being with you thanks to My Beloved Darkness.

After a classic formation in piano and voice, how were you influenced more and more by the electronic music?
I always had two tendencies in my soul. Both are completely compatible and complementary. One became stronger because the other. They enhance each other . And both made my life experience richer and deeper. Classical music opened my heart from the beginning. I also makes your brain work as a musician. It gives shape to the feelings you have inside and it helps to express them. My therapy was always in that music. And I grow up in a deep loneliness, supported by it. I discovered the world through it.
The electronic music, suddenly, opened my eyes for an enormous range of possibilities for expression. Those sounds I never heard before, stay still there, making no difference with the Classical. For me the Classical orchestra is the “Synthesizer ” that Europe had from centuries before. All composers used it in many ways. The different presets of one orchestra, are acoustics. The modern synthesizers are electronics, more complex and new, so the results are unique. They have never being played before. And the evolution keeps going on.
My feeling with the electronic music is no difference from the feeling I use in the Classical Music.
Only the technique varies. As different instruments, playing electronic music is different than playing classical instruments. It's not better or worse. It's just different. And enormously deep. The proof is that many people have close feelings to the electronic. It touch your soul. It shakes you, moves you, it makes you feel passionate, powerful, romantic, in love, sad , tragic ...as the Classical. It makes you dream.

Do you think that your participation in Trans-X helped you to be known in the electronic music?
I think that first of all the public listen to your music, and then, if attracted , they try to know who you are, where you come from, etc. When you have been working in a mythical band, it's a good reference for the public to understand your evolution. I don't think it helps, I think it's a great reference. But after you have to show that you have a value by yourself as an artist.

I am very surprised with Talking to Myself", an album of high quality, deep, intense and emotional; Do you think the same thing? Are you happy with this release?
I think as a mother would do: you have to accept the kids as they are. I was pregnant with this record a long time, and this is the result. It contains my psychological factor, very influenced by the romanticism and the classic feeling. I use to listen to it as a reference from myself. So that means that I enjoy it and I feel proud of it.

Your music emits an autumnal and melancholic atmosphere, also with some dark airs, tell me, Did you always want to sound this way?
Romanticism is one stage of the heart, where it usually express itself about something or about nothing particularly, just because the heart is full of feelings and needs to explode, like a cloud full of water makes the rain. In my case it tells the feelings at the moment, which were in the way you means. I felt lost and like in a hole, as many people can feel. I use the music as a therapy. I can reborn from my ashes by putting melodies and synthetic sounds. My records will tell always many things about me. May be this is not so good, but I make art, and art it's always personal. One artist have to be use to be naked for the public. Then there's the connection. My success is in this way: to connect.

Why did you opt to sign with Decadance Records? Did you receive other proposals? Do they give you complete freedom in your work?
Oh yeah, they Love me and I Looove them (it's mutual devotion). I feel so thankful and full of joy. They are so smart and so respectful with all the artists. They aloud me to be as I am, and we talk always with a great professionalism . Yes I had more offers. I didn't know what to do so I trust in my heart. Everything is going well now and it will be more and more.

Some musical influences in your music? What have you been listening lately?
The 80's music as Kraftwerk, Alphaville, OMD, Vangelis, all that dream music. I'm not a good listener of others. I'm very concentrated in my way, and I prefer not to have any influences. I'm very bad public right now. But if I hear something that I like, I get very inspired. That's why I try to avoid that. I want to go deep into my feeling. I'm extremely egoistic in that aspect. I need to be in that way. I get special connection with Haendel, even he was baroque composer. It touch me deep, specially his airs for voice.

Changing topic, Tell me about you, Is truth that you were born in Thailand? How did you finish in USA?
(How do you know that?... :)Yeah it was the fate. I saw the light there. It was a casuality. Even I'm European, I was touched from the beginning by that culture. I need to go often. There's something mystical and deep in everywhere there. You can breath it. Specially for recovering the dignity as human being, something that in the western is lost. I always believe in the heart as a way of living not in the mind. LA has something mystical too. I love to live close by a dessert. The energy is gorgeous. I can breath very well. Also there is a great creative energy. And still people is so kind and nice. All Americas (South, North, Center ) you have many things that in Europe we have not anymore. You are so human. You are still so close to the heart. Today is so difficult to find.

Do you have another occupation apart from the music? Hobbies, jobs, etc?
My personal life is ordinary.

About Thai -Essence, Is this project stand-by?
A new album (“Dreamcatcher”) is already finished. It was made for contemporary dance. The premiere was at the Met theater in Hollywood performed by Kybele Dance Theater Company. It's going to be released very soon. Many other sound track projects for movies are going to come.

For who didn't still listen to you, could you describe us lyrical and musically your stuff?
Yes it's so hard...I prefer your description about my music. It would really help me much more.
The tempo is not so high this time. I need the silence to be heard as well as the sound. If too fast, it loose it's quality. A little slowly, then the silence speaks. I love the deep backgrounds in the music. Simple lyrics but visionary. All it's about images. Each song is a short movie that tells a part of me.

Future plans and last words...
The next record is on the way. It will see the light in 2009. It will be little different. I'm in another moment. To me, two moments are never the same in the evolution of an artist. I'm not that kind of artist who repeats formulas to keep one style. The style is something that comes out naturally without effort. You can not do it, but you can not avoid it. You can not build it priori to the music either. It's all about you. And with the time, different songs creates the map of your life. I hope to find you once more in this evolution. For all the people from MY BELOVED DARKNESS & VIA NOCTURNA all the best!
