Autumn
Tears
Interview: Jezus C. (Saqrangel)
Answers: Ted (vocal, líricas, composición...)
Autumn Tears is an American band dedicated to the dark neoclassical music, they after its successful trilogy 'Love Poems... ' finally present us its most anticipated stuff simply denominated 'Eclipse', about this new album speaks to us the leader of the Autum Tear, Ted Tringo ...
I perceive ' Eclipse' as a more varied album and with better quality in musical composition that their previous discs, of course! It was the product of almost four years of work. Are you very happy with the obtained stuff?. Is it the material that you so much hoped to obtain?
Yes, I am very happy with the end result. My goal was to mature with the music and I feel I have more than accomplished that with the style and composition. Hopefully I can still improve in the future.
Tell us shortly the concept and essence of each song of 'Eclipse.'
Well, the concept of Eclipse has to do with two lovers caught between time and space who meet and fall in love within their dreams. Each song individually reflects a part of that concept, although ambiguously. I tried to capture the mood of each part of the story through the musical themes and melodies as well as the vocals and lyrics.

The cover art is wonderful, Ted if that are a good painter! Somehow the illustrations of 'Eclipse' does it mean the eclipse of the life, the life and the death?
Thank you very much. Again, the illustrations, like the music reflect an ambiguous interpretation of the concept. I tried to capture a visual interpretation of the music as well as the lyrics through the images throughout the layout by using subtle and sometimes shocking and provocative visuals.
Which are your influences? I can perceive inside their music something of Dead Can Dance, Enya among others. Did you listen Ataraxia?
On the earlier albums, Act 1, 2 and 3, some of those bands you mentionsed were influential to my composition, but recently I have been studying works of Mahler, Grieg, Verdi, Haydn, Bartok and a variety of other classical composers to broaden the depth, diversity and complexity of the newer music.
Have you ever played live? Does this lie in the future? Can your sound be faithfully reproduced live?
We have never played live and the only way I feel the music could be done justice in a live environment is if accompanied by a full orchestra, which I don't ever see happening so I feel AT will always remain a studio project.
Your stuff anything doesn't contain of metal music but why do you believe that Autumn Tears has enough metallers followers?
I feel it is probably because I chose from the very beginning to expose the metal community to AT, and release the albums within a metal based market rather than a gothic one. That may have very well been why many metal lovers chose to give it a chance even though it was not related to, or based in metal.
What can you say to people that are oppressed by the society and don't they live their own life, and don't they make what they really want for their own lives?
I'd say that they are very unfortunate to have the luxury and freedoms that we have here in the US. Everyone should have their own choice to pursue their dreams, as long as it doesn't involve oppressing, condemning or causing harm to others.

Do you feel something depressed by the humanity's current immature character?
No, because I feel if you let yourself be depressed over things that you have no control over, then you'll never be able to realize and fulfill your own dreams. I try not to brood over anything as I have always found it to be counterproductive.
Would you play some music type a little more cheerful?
Well, the music of AT always cheers me up when I listen to it. :)
What music do you listen lately? Did you listen Schattenkinder from Germany? I recommend it to you!

As I mentioned earlier, I have been mainly been submerging myself in classical music, from symphonies, to operas, and have listened to very little else over the past year.
For those that didn't still listen "Eclipse", describe us musical and lyrically your stuff.
I would best describe it as classically based, poetically influenced music with orchestral soundscapes, layered with and array of vocals ranging from operatic and classical solos to Baltic choral passages and duets.
Thank you for time towards me, tell us your future plans and last words...
Thank you. My plans will be to continue to keep doing what I do. As always stay dark.
